After
choosing how you will display your portfolio items, the next step is
to decide how to organize the items.
The easiest and most organized way to display your items is to create
sections that match areas in your life. For example, you could have sections
for academics, career, community service, personal interests, family,
talents, etc. You can create a category to represent the items you place
in it. Practice categorizing by matching the following items to the category
they would best fit in. Using the Word Bank of portfolio categories,
write the name of the category next to each item where the item would
best fit. (Hint: Some items may fit into more than one category.)

Now,
look at the items you chose for your portfolio. Do any fall in the
categories we already mentioned? What other categories might you
include in your
portfolio? Write the categories below that you will use to organize
your portfolio.
Then, go back to your list of portfolio items and write
the name of the category next to each item that the item will go
in.
