Showing Improvement

Friends huggingOne great reason to have a portfolio is to have a record of your achievements over a period of time. Does your portfolio show some improvement in yourself? For example, you may have learned woodworking two years ago and your first project was to build a birdhouse, but since then you have also built a doghouse, a bookshelf, and some kitchen cupboards. Did you make sure to include a record of your progress over time? Sure, it’s great that you built that birdhouse, but including pictures of your other projects shows you have continued the hobby and improved over time. Who knows, someday you may include a picture of a house you built!

List an item from your portfolio that shows improvement or progress over time? Are there similar items you forgot to include but that would help show how you have progressed?

Remember, your portfolio will continue to show your progress as you add to it in the future. The next lesson will help you understand how to add on to your portfolio.
